Respond:

  • The crippled woman had been plagued for 18 years. How alone and frustrated must she have felt? Do you feel alone? Why do you think the Lord waited 18 years to heal her? What hope then does that give us?
  • Read verse 16 again… and read it one more time. Jesus is trying to make a point here for us to truly let sink in. He said, “be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her.” What “work” should be done on the Sabbath then? Think about anything that binds you? Work? Stress? Social media? Family guilt? Jesus is speaking here for us to focus on setting ourselves free especially on the Sabbath. What do you need Jesus to help you set yourself free of?
