We’ve all been there—standing on the threshold of a new season in life, overwhelmed with possibilities, yet uncertain which path to take. College freshmen often find themselves in this place when they declare “Undecided” as their major. It’s a label that speaks to more than just academics; it speaks to a season of exploring identity, purpose, and direction.

In our new series, *Undecided*, we will journey through the book of 1 Corinthians, a letter where Paul addresses a church that was struggling with its identity and direction. Just like those students unsure of what to commit to, the Corinthians were wrestling with their faith and decisions about how to live out their calling.

Together, we’ll learn that being “Undecided” is not a weakness but an opportunity for God to reveal His path and purpose for us. We’ll discover that whether in college, career, or faith, we don’t have to stay undecided. There is a calling, a direction, and a firm foundation in Christ that leads us to a life of purpose and clarity.

UNDECIDED: Agriculture 101

In this sermon, we draw parallels between the life of a farmer and the journey of faith, emphasizing the importance of planting, watering, and trusting God for growth. Using 1 Corinthians 3:6-9 and the parable of the sower, the sermon illustrates how the condition of our hearts, much like soil, determines the growth of our spiritual lives. We need to actively prepare our hearts by removing obstacles such as sin and distractions, akin to pulling weeds and removing rocks, to allow God's word to take root. Ultimately, while we must work diligently in our spiritual lives, we must also do this for others also and trust God for results.

UNDECIDED: Cultural Studies 101

In the "Undecided" sermon series, we explored the balance between exercising our rights and fulfilling our responsibilities as Christians, drawing from the Apostle Paul's guidance to the Corinthian church. The sermon emphasized that while we have the freedom to make personal choices, such as whether to drink alcohol or celebrate cultural events, our actions should ultimately glorify God and consider the well-being of others. By examining God’s word, listening to our conscience, and seeking the Holy Spirit's guidance, we are called to prioritize our responsibility to lead others to God over our individual rights. This message challenges us to live intentionally, reflecting Christ's love in every decision we make.

UNDECIDED: ETHICS 101

In this sermon, we delve into the concept of Christian ethics and their vital role in shaping our conduct. Drawing from the Apostle Paul's teachings to the Corinthian church, we explore the difference between moral relativism, virtue ethics, and the unchanging standard of Christian ethics rooted in God's character. Through personal anecdotes and insights from C.S. Lewis's "Mere Christianity," the sermon challenges us to align our lives with God's moral code, emphasizing that our ethics should naturally lead to Christian conduct. By following Jesus' example and allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us, we can live a life of purpose and integrity, free from the shackles of regret and shame. Whether you're a believer or exploring faith, this message invites you to embrace a life that honors God in every aspect.
